I liked it, never tried Sushi, but the steaks, salmon, chicken & shrimps are delicious. If you want to see some cooking shows - visit this place (although it depends what cook you'll be assigned to). Definitely choose the brown rice over regular.

Food was great but one no no is never rush people to leave once the cook is done not everyone eats fast.

The food was delicious. The golden shrimp is so good. Tempura appetizer is a great choice.

We ordered hibachi steak and four rolls. The steak came out in about 10 minutes. The rolls took over an hour. The restaurant was not very full when we were there.

Chef was really disorganized and was getting the orders at the table confused. Chicken was underdone in places. No liquor license.

We arrived at this place for lunch. we heard about this spot from a lot of people. Well, it was a winning. The staff members were extremely nice and we had a fantastic feeling. The meal was great. We enjoyed every moment and we will visit this place again. Highly recommended.

The food was Ok, but the show was disappointing

Has gone downhill. No liquor license? Maybe they have fixed it but not on a recent visit. Quality of proteins is low, especially scallops and filet. Another group at our table sent the filet back.

This used to be my favorite restaurant. Now it is beyond horrible. The workers are rude. The place is a dump and falling apart. My plate was dirty. They didn’t know English. They wouldn’t accept my groupon at lunch, even though it didn’t mention it can’t be used during lunch. I will NEVER go there again. For that much money, I will gladly go to other Japanese steakhouses in the area.

The Owner of the establishment accommodated us at almost closing time. All four different appetizers we ordered were of exellent appearance, freshness, and taste. Interior is stylish and not crowded. I plan to come there more. Boris

This place has an awesome vibe and cool authenticity to it! Love the food here (only place with Golden Shrimp I could find!) The hibachi was a nice show. The place got busy around dinner time so I expected to wait a while, but we got served pretty fast for it being busy!

I have been to this restaurant many times over the last few years with my girlfriend and to be honest, the quality of the food and service was lacking, but wait keep reading. The restaurant is now under new management and WOW what a change. The food is just amazing.....I mean AMAZING ! The new Sushi/Executive Chef (Suk Moon) makes fantastic creations that are not only truly mouth watering but just absolutely, beautifully finished plates. In the last couple of months I have been here four times and It just keeps getting better. Even the wait staff has improved substantially, so attentive. A great place for a relaxing evening. Have a glass of wine and enjoy a masterful meal. Thank you, see you soon.

Good restaurant great food!

Ordered delivery and had to cancel order 2 hours later because it never showed up. I called twice over an hour after I placed the order and kept getting told the driver was "on his way". Last time I dined here in-person the service was also very poor and the food lukewarm but it was a while ago and I was hoping maybe things had changed.I used to love going here over the years and I don't know why it's gone downhill. Maybe a change in management is needed.

Foods not as good since new owners rather bland especially the gold sauce

Very fun experience! I had the tuna steak, my friend had the filet mignon both were excellent! Best fried rice around!

Lunch Specials. Need I say more!?! If you like habachi restaurants and don't want to spend a mint, go here for lunch. They are very reasonably priced and the food is fantastic.

The place is nice I had the sirloin and brown rice OMG and the California rolls delicious.

Their bar was completely closed because they forgot to renew their liquor license. They had an online coupon for $10 when you spend $100. No limitations were listed. But they wouldn't honor the coupon at lunch. No Coke products, only Pepsi. Japanese steak houses have as their main attraction the performance and personality of the chef (they cook in front of you). Our chef didn't say a word to us and had no presentation save breaking the egg by tossing it and having it fall on the sharp end of his spatula. My wife had her steak well done, and I had mine medium rare. The chef cooked mine longer than hers. Y steak was overdone, hers under cooked. The steak (filet) was tasty, but lacking in taste... almost to the point of insipidness. We will never return

Been going there for 14 years. Was great in the past. Not sure what happened. Do not recommend. Service slow, forgot food, 1 waiter, 1 cook, salmon overly fishy, forgot sons food, roll tasted like it was defrosted, no lemon, no lime, was there for about 2 1/2 hours, wound up leaving...payed, but left. Disgusted.

Could not have been happier. It was my dad's first time trying sushi and we tried this place out because it was close to home. The people could not have been nicer and the sushi was great! Will defanatly be coming back!

No liquor license (it lapsed), and they forgot to bring the soups and salads... said sorry... and charged us full price anyway. The "show" isn't what it used to be years ago. It is also badly in need of renovation. Sad how it seems to have gone so far downhill. We won't be back.

Just terrible! This is NOT the Kegon we knew before and we loved it... sorry. Horrible! Waste of time and money!

Kegon is totally legit! They have tough competition from the likes of Benihana and Ron of Japan, but I would say they hold their own pretty well. Also, I think they expanded their sushi selection. I really, really like this place, but my brother freaking LOVES it! His reaction upon mention of Kegon? "OH! Kegon! Oh-oh-ho-ho-ho-ho-oh! Oh-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho..." Well, for a better description of his full reaction, please refer to my review of Lou Malnati's [Northbrook]. The biggest problem is the location, though very visible from Waukegan, is kind of tucked out of the way.

I admire this venue a lot. there is a romantic mood. The cuisine is exeptionaly good. the service is effective and the personel is trained. The price is decent. I definitely recommend.

I ordered from here off of grubhub. I called the resturaunt after my delivery was 30 minutes late asking when it would come. The employee on the phone was rude and started yelling at me when I asked the question. I wasn't being rude or anything, so I don't believe I deserved that.

They're closed. Business hours say open til 10:30, but it is 7 pm and doors are locked. And inside doesnt even look like they are in business?

The best General chicken ever I love it.

This place had about the worst restaurant experience I have ever encountered from service that was abysmal to a manager that was overly rude and hostile to food that was basically inedible. .portion sizes which were not anywhere near expectation I wouldn't send my worst enemy to kegon no matter what. This place needs to close. Yesterday. Yuck.
